Who said nothing in life is free? Rural Contractors NZ is running four regional roadshows this month which its members can attend at no charge and even bring some staff.
CEO Andrew Olsen says they first ran regional roadshows in 2022 as a complementary event to its conferences. “The roadshows bring in a wider range of members, some of who we don’t see at conference. It also provides all of our premium partners the opportunity to engage with members and provide technical and product updates and information.”
The four roadshows start at the Distinction Hotel in Hamilton on Tuesday June 17, the next day at Palmerston North’s Distinction Hotel, Tuesday June 24 at Gore’s Croydon Lodge and the following day at the Commodore Hotel in Christchurch.
Attendance, including drinks and food at the end of the afternoon sessions is complimentary for full RCNZ members and life members. Andrew Olsen says the events are able to be funded by RCNZ’s strong balance sheet and premium partner support.
“Members can register up to four delegates each. There’s a separate session at the start for agri-spray members before our harvesting contractors join the afternoon.”
WorkSafe will give a keynote address and continue RCNZ’s emphasis on health and safety which saw it deliver its own recent campaign on the dangers of fatigue.
The 2025 RCNZ Nufarm Agrichemical Applicator Award winners will also be announced. Previously a national award with winner and runner-up, this now sees agrichemical operators from each of RCNZ’s four zones recognised by premium partner Nufarm. Registrations closed June 6 but Andrew Olsen says he may take some late enrolments.
