Three long-serving Rural Contractors NZ Board members stood down at the JuneMasterton conference – and a new President and Vice-President were elected. Waikato’s Helen Slattery has served the board for 12 years with the last three years as its first woman President.
She was warmly farewell at the conference dinner by her successor Wairarapa spray contractor Clinton Carroll, who had been her Vice-President. That role is now filled by Southland contractor Daryl Thompson.

Two other Board departures were also marked at the conference. Graham Greer, who has twice served on the RCNZ Board from his Rangitikei base has called it a day as has Canterbury’s Martin Bruce who has had a particular interest for members on agricultural transport issues.
South Waikato’s Gordy Brown, who works for Miers Contractors in Reporoa, is the new Zone 1 representative. Taranaki contractor Alistair Kalin replaces Graham Greer in Zone 2 and Methven-based spray contractor David Molloy is the new Zone 3 rep.
